Peter Kalmus

Peter has been involved in alternative as well as traditional investments for over 40 years, not only as an advisor, but also as principal. His first exposure to 1031 transactions was as a tax lawyer in the 1980’s at the Big 8 accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand and then at the Wall Street law firm of Carter Ledyard. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from NYU, a JD from Brooklyn Law School, and an LL.M. (Taxation) from NYU Law School. 

As a generalist with expertise in real estate underwriting and syndication, legal and tax matters, and the workings of financial markets, he brings a multi-disciplinary approach to every engagement. As a principal investor, he enjoys a proprietary perspective that aligns with his clients’ interests.

Peter lives in New Jersey with his trusted rottweiler, Mac, and in his spare time enjoys singing, fitness, and trading equities and futures.

Peter holds Series 7,55, and 63 securities licenses. Peter and John have known each other for over 20 years.
